Earlier this year I sadly lost a friend in a fatal car accident, he was only 25. After seeing how a devastating loss like this affected his family and close friends, I wanted to raise money for a charity that offers support for families in similar situations at these very sad times.
I am running the Coventry half marathon on 25th October 2009 in aid for the charity S.C.A.R.D (Support & Care after Road Death & Injury).
S.C.A.R.D helps victims of road accidents and their families, in these devastating situations in many different ways. By providing counselling groups, memorial services, legal advice and support and most importantly they educate people about being safe on the roads.

 The Coventry Half Marathon - Sunday 25th October 2009

 

The Coventry Half Marathon is all about achieving a personal goal and is open to absolutely anyone aged 17 years or over on the day. There is also the Mercia Mile fun run of just over 1 mile which is open to people of all ages and is a great option for those wishing to walk, run or jog a shorter distance or take part with their children.
