July 2009 - Curryoke Night
The curryoke
night was a great night, enjoyed by all. As with
every karaoke it produced some excellent singing
talent, eat your heart out Simin Cowell! There were
one or two who need a little more practise though,
you know that don't you Alistair, poor lad only
got a couple of lines out before being ' bid' off!
We raised a net total of £555 on the night,
so a massive thank you to Ziggy and all that attended.

21st June
2009 - Andy Bagnall completed his run successfully
and said that he raised more this time than he has
ever done for any other event. He raised £340
for the Naomi Fund which he is happily collecting
now.
Well Done
Andy! A Massive Thank You goes out to you!
5th

2009 - Manchester-Salford Quays - Bungee Jump
Family friends
Stacey Prentice and her sister Sheena Walton will
be doing a 170ft bungee jump on Saturday June 13th
at Manchester-Salford Quays
in aid of
Naomi's fund, Stacey is terrified of heights however
she has become a very close friend of Naomi's family
since their tragedy
and believes
Naomi's fund is a much worthy cause, she continuously
works hard to raise awareness and money for the
fund. So hats off to both Stacey & Sheena as
we know this is going to take some extreme courage.
We wish them
luck!!
Update:
The Bungee jump was a great success, more details
and pictures coming soon!

25th July 2008 Brighouse
Sports Club Charity Night
The doors opened
at 7pm prompt as the band were still setting up. It
was no problem though because they were ready by 7.30
when the first few guests started to arrive. It was
shortly after 8pm, a little later than planned when
our compeer Mick Blakeborough from the Old Shears
Inn, Halifax got up stating "Lets get this show
on the road because were all here for a good reason
and thats to raise lots of money for a very good cause,
" He was not wrong and no sooner had he finished
his short introduction the room had suddenly filled
up, Grant Moorhouse a solo singer from Halifax took
to the stage. Grant was fantastic and oozed confidence
throughout finishing with his tribute song to Naomi
without backing music, ' My Girl', he left the stage
with massive applause. Mick was straight on to kick
start the auction with a large Sponge Bob Square Pants
toy( Naomi's favourite cartoon character), which raised
a massive £60. He auctioned a few items before
doing a few of the many raffle prizes.
The night included further live entertainment by the
female comedy singing duo Larger Than Life and Calderdale
band NYK (Not Yet Known), one of the males in the
band grinned and bared it as his leg was in plaster
but still managed to wow the audience with his guitar
whilst sitting down. Both bands did 2 sessions each
which all ended in great applause by the audience,
in between the sessions Micks raised a large amount
of money with the auctions and raffles. It was fantastic
how the evening just rolled from one thing to another,
as one of the guests stated to me, " There was
no time to get bored, it was fantastic!". There
were many items for auction including a signed Leeds
Rhino's shirt which sold for £230, a signed
Ryan Giggs Shirt which sold for£270 and the
biggest surprise of the night was when NYK had already
agreed to auction themselves for a gig offered a second
one as there were two people bidding against each
other, one sold for £300 and the other for £350!
There were also many raffle prizes including bottles
of whisky and champagne, 2 tickets to see Lee Evans
with a nights accommodation. There was also a weeks
accommodation in Portugal up for grabs!
We have to say a massive thank you to everyone who
contributed to making this night such a success, Mick
Blakeborough who wowed the audience with his wonderful
charisma from the Old Shears Inn Halifax for doing
a fantastic job of the compering and coercing people
in to handing over their hard earned cash, Larger
Than Life, NYK (Not Yet Known) and Grant Moorhouse
who all provided the entertainment, Barclays Bank
who sponsored the raffle and auction, Brighouse Sports
Club and of course everyone who donated prizes and
attended on the night. We are so pleased that everyone
enjoyed themselves so much and we are now looking
forward to the next one!
Many Thanks

Lauren Davison
(18) who took part in the walk to Blackpool has shaved
her head to raise funds. Lauren is Down Under in sunny
Australia and is going to raise as much as she can
there and also gather sponsorship from friends etc
at home in UK. We have just heard from Lauren, who
has shaved her hair and has raised so far, 400 Australian
Dollars (£180) for Naomi's Fund. If you know
Lauren and would like to sponsor her, it's not too
late to add to her great (and very brave) achievement
- just click

Naomi's boy friend
Ty Boothroyd, together with his dad Tony and a couple
of friends Rob and Karard took part in the Tong 4x4
Funday at Parkwood Off Road Centre, Tong, near Leeds,
West Yorkshire. Becky who owns the centre has read
all about Naomi on the SCARD website and very kindly
allowed Ty & Co to do some fundraising.
A grand total
of £271.45 was eventually raised from the Funday.
Thanks to Ty and all the others involved in the day
- especially for standing outside in the freezing
cold for hours! Thats what I call commitment!

Naomi's sister
Rochelle and friends held a tribute night in memory
of Naomi. It was in Naomi's true style of fancy dress,
something she loved to do on all special occasions.
They had a great night out and were joined by other
friends including Robin Hood, Ali G and an Oxo cube.
Some T-shirts were once again very kindly donated
by Andy at Calder Screen Prints providing the lasses
made a donation to the fund, a massive thak you to
Andy. The T-shirts had Naomi's Angels on the front
and Naomi's Tribute Night on the back. The lasses
all agreed to donate £10 each totalling £90
and then on top of that, they won a further £50
at the Acapulco night club and put that into the kitty
too, making a grand total of £140 raised.
