Anti-Drink Driving Workshops
SCARD runs anti-drink-drive workshops with our sister organisation CADD. As many of our members are victims of drunken and irresponsible drivers, we know first hand the dangers of driving when unfit due to an excess of drugs and/or alcohol.
SCARD aims to not only set foundations but also to re-educate current drivers who may have become complacent with the rules on the road or unaware of the potential dangers. Re-educating enables drivers to rethink and to take responsibility of their actions.
Our hard-hitting workshops are very popular with many organisations where drink driving and other unsafe driving behaviour would cause particular problems for the organisation.
What makes our workshops so effective is that all of our experienced facilitators have been bereaved or seriously injured due to drink and/or drug drivers – this fact tends to focus the minds of the participants and emphasises the dangers involved.
We welcome groups of any size – our facilitators can visit you at your site, or we can hold the workshop in our conference room at our offices in Ossett, West Yorkshire.
The workshops can be specially tailored to meet any needs, but tend to follow the format of :
• Introduction, SCARD for life DVD and questions
• 20-minute comfort break
• One-hour personal presentation by a victim of drink and/or drug driving
• Discussion and Q&A
The complete workshop takes no more than three hours.
At the end of the workshop, participants are invited to sign one of our safe-driver contracts – for more details on this unique initiative, please click here.
